Are there any scriptures that state the Messiah/Mashiach would be treated or called Lord?

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Micah 5:2

  • Psalm 110 clearly shows the Messiah also being mentioned as Lord
  • This same verse was quoted by Jesus in Matthew 22 showing it to be Messianic

"The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."

Psalm 110:1-4

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then calls him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man that day forth ask him any more questions.

Matthew 22:41-46

  • Some people try to say the Psalm (as many do) starts with - "Lih-David" in Hebrew or - "To David" but in the original Hebrew this actually means a Psalm "of David"... even the JPS 1917 Masoretic version translates these as "a Psalm of David"
  • Here the object of the Psalm is said to be a "Priest - Forever". Just a few lines later in the same Psalm the Lord is said to "Judge the nations"
  • Clearly the person written about here by David is not David himself
  • And again this verse is used in Acts 2 and Hebrews 1

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Acts 2:32-36

But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hebrews 1:13-14
